About Me

Hello, fellow gastronomes!  My name is Karen Brown and I have a passion for dining out and great food.  When I was a little girl, going out to dinner with my family was such a joy. There is something so lovely about sitting around a table with family and sharing.   Sampling was compulsory. At age 10, deconstructing a lobster was a required skill set. Thank you to  my dear parents for introducing me to cherrystone clams, braciole, and the glorious sfogiotella.

My three children inherited my passion for good food and  dining out. I’m convinced that early “epicuriosity” and never being afraid to try new flavors are why my kids are the phenomenal cooks they are today.  I’m happy to see that decades later, my grandkids will feast on burgers or grilled octopus with equal fervor.

When I try a new restaurant, its a practice of mine to snap pics of the food and the venue and share with my kids.  “You may not be here with me right now, but I can still share my dinner with you.”   Which brings me to why I started this restaurant journal. I can nosh my way through the Nutmeg State and take all you foodies with me. You may be inspired to try out some new eateries, too!  If you love food, looking at photos of food and talking about food, please join me on a culinary adventure as we make our way around my home state of Connecticut in search of delish!
